Feature to capture tall website screenshot

Sometimes I need to capture a screenshot of a whole website, not only the visible portion. This can be achieved with a offscreen RevBrowser window that is as tall as it needs to be, then, you can simply export a snapshot from RevBrowser and you will have a killer feature. Easy to implement and lots of value in this.

Andre,

Thanks for the suggestion. This is a feature we would like to offer in the future.

Unfortunately the easy implementation doesn't provide WYSIWYG 100% of the time. To do this properly we would need to allow the user to capture what they are seeing in one of their browser windows. If we grab the URL from the browser and load it into a webkit/ie instance it won't always give you exactly what the user is looking at.

For example, if the user has interacted with the web page and changed the visible state of elements then these elements would not have the same visible state when the web page was loaded into webkit/ie.

I was thinking on simpler terms, a new menu item that would ask for the url. I am not thinking about "capture what I am seeing" but like "capture from url" and then we give the url. What about this? It is easier to implement and the interested users would know how to use.

If we implement a feature such as capturing web pages we need to ensure that it is simple for all of our users to use. I think it is best if we wait until we can implement it into the screen capture tool.

You are right as usual. Well, if this feature ever becomes available, I will be the first in line to test it. Anyway, thanks for the quick response.

All you need in the meantime is a handy little LiveCode stack/app that places the URL on the clipboard for you. Although I imagine you already have one of those.

yes but I am facing issues with all the snapshots commands. RevBrowserSnapshot does not work at all, import snapshot can't work with coordinates that are larger than the visible screen... and so on. Well, thanks for all the answers Trevor, if I am ever able to cook something that works, I will post to the list.
