I just did a test using ScreenSteps 1.2 on OS X.5 and did not see the issue you are. Let's try and find out what we are doing differently.
I created a new step in ScreenSteps. I then typed 'Et encore le tl

The problem is with the TITLE.
the first time you write it with special character ( accent 瀀 愦 ... for instance) the html export is WRONG
if I just rewrite the title with the same word ... the html export is correct !
is that more clear ?
thank's

Ah, the lesson title. I was checking the step title (this is Trevor by the way).
I just did another test with a new document and export worked correctly as well:
<div id="wrapper">
<div id="main">
<h1>Encode le téléphone</h1>
<div id="step_1" class="lessonStep";>
<h2>Testing</h2>
</div>
You mention that retyping the title exported correctly. Did you type the title the same way each time? Can you get it to export incorrectly again? If so please send the project file to support@screensteps.com so we can take a look.

OK. If you see the problem during export just save the ScreenSteps project without making any further modifications and email it to us so we can take a look.

I was able to locate the problem. The lesson title was not being saved to disk correctly so the accented characters were not being loaded correctly when you opened the project file again.
I have uploaded a new 1.2.1 beta which you can download here if you are interested:
and i always have problem with accented characters
i have sent you a another document.

Since the bug was occurring when you saved the project it is necessary to save the project again in order to fix existing files.
Open the project, make some sort of change so ScreenSteps will enable File->Save and then save the project again. I did that with the document you sent and it works on my end now.

Sorry
the only way to correct the problem is to send the cursor in the title
AND
to save
and export in html
so ... my accented characters in the title are OK
if I only change anything in an another area ... the accented problem is allways here.
strange !

Ah yes, that makes sense actually. An invalid lesson title is being loaded so it must be modified so that ScreenSteps updates the lesson title to valid data. So updating the lesson title for each existing lessons with accented characters should fix the problem.
Sorry for the confusion.

Exact
and to fix the problem I have only to click in the title
and without any change the next "save" fix the problem.
